New ARMY: What Should You Watch First?

You do not need to “catch up” on everything to be ARMY. BTS has more than a decade of music, shows, documentaries, interviews and live content. The easiest way to start is not by release date — it is by what made you curious.

If you want to know their personalities

Start with Run BTS!. It is the easiest low-pressure entry into the members’ group chemistry, humor and recurring dynamics.

• Watch a few Run BTS episodes rather than trying to begin with hundreds of hours of history.
• If you like the group dynamic, move into travel/slow-form content such as Bon Voyage and In the SOOP.

If you came for the music

Use BTS’s official discography as the map rather than trying to memorize every era at once.

A simple path is:

1. Listen to the current album that brought you in.
2. Go backward to one earlier album or era that catches your attention.
3. Watch the official performances, music videos and interviews around that era.

This lets the history grow around the songs you already care about instead of turning fandom into homework.

If you want to understand the group’s history

Start with official BTS media and longer interviews, then use fan discussion to add context. The key is to keep a line between first-party material and fan interpretation.

When a fan explains a “you had to be there” moment, ask what official clip, interview, performance or notice it came from. That is often the fastest way to learn the history without absorbing rumors as fact.

If you want the funniest / easiest route

Run BTS → Bon Voyage → In the SOOP is the simplest entertainment-first path. It is also the route we see new fans ask about most often when they want to know the members beyond music.

If you only have one hour

Do this:

1. Watch one current BTS performance or music video.
2. Watch one Run BTS episode.
3. Watch one recent long-form interview.

If one of those makes you want more, follow that branch instead of trying to complete a master checklist.

Where to watch officially

Fantree has a separate official-source guide for Run BTS, Bon Voyage and In the SOOP. We intentionally leave out pirate mirrors and random reuploads.
